Who we are

Practice Insider is an independent publication serving operators inside accounting and advisory firms. References to "we", "us", and "the desk" in this policy mean Practice Insider.

What information we collect

The desk only collects the minimum needed to run the publication:

• Email addresses you submit through the newsletter signup.
• Information you provide voluntarily through the application form (name, firm, role, and the answers to short questions).
• Information you send to the desk by email.
• Technical usage information when you choose to allow analytics, such as pages visited, device and browser information, and how you reached the site.

We use Plausible Analytics, Google Analytics, and Threadrail to understand aggregate site usage and improve the publication. Plausible provides cookie-free aggregate traffic measurement. Google Analytics and Threadrail are loaded only after you accept analytics in the site's privacy prompt. Details of cookies and similar technologies are set out in our cookies policy.

How we use it

• To send you the Practice Insider newsletter, if you've subscribed.
• To respond to applications, story tips, and direct enquiries sent to the desk.
• To keep an internal record of community applications and outcomes.
• To understand which editorial pages and routes are useful to readers.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

Newsletter email addresses are kept for as long as you remain subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any edition, after which your address is removed from the active list.

Application information is kept for a reasonable period after the outcome of the application, so the desk has context if you reapply.

Your rights

You can ask the desk at any time to see what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email hello@practiceinsider.com and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
