Most coverage of the accounting profession is written for the profession's own institutions. It is well-meaning, often correct, and almost never useful to the people running a firm on a Tuesday.
Practice Insider exists to fill that gap. It is written for operators — partners, COOs, ops leads, and the people quietly making the decisions that shape how a firm actually works. The work is independent, founder-led, and deliberately quiet.

Practice Insider is led by Mehmood Rajoka.
Mehmood has spent his career inside accounting and advisory firms — building, advising, and watching closely as the profession reshapes itself. Practice Insider exists because the publication he wanted to read for firm operators didn't yet exist.
The work is independent, founder-led, and deliberately quiet. The editorial line is simple: take operators seriously, write things worth their time, and never confuse volume with value.
How we work.

Independence is non-negotiable
We do not accept payment for editorial coverage. Where a relationship exists with a vendor or partner, it is disclosed in plain language inside the relevant piece.

Sources before takes
Insights pieces are grounded in conversations with operators inside firms. Where data is cited, the source is named. Where a take is offered, it is the writer's, and labelled as such.

Errors are corrected, visibly
If we get something wrong, we fix it in the piece, note the change at the bottom, and move on. Quiet edits are not the standard.

Reader time is the limiting resource
We publish less and try to publish better. If a piece is not worth a senior operator's time, it does not go out.
