A curated community for the people running modern firms.
Practice Insider's community is small by design. It exists for operators who want a working room of peers, not a feed.
Not a forum. Not a Slack. Not a network.
The Practice Insider community is a small, vetted group of accounting and advisory firm operators who meet regularly to work through the operating questions facing serious firms.
It is deliberately not an always-on chat platform, an open social network, or a public forum. The value is in the room, the cadence, and the trust between members — not the volume of posts.
Membership is by application and conversation. The desk reads every application personally.
Operators inside firms taking themselves seriously.
The room works because the people in it share a level of operating responsibility and a willingness to speak plainly.
- Managing partners and firm principals.
- COOs and operations leads owning the firm's operating model.
- Founders of newer firms designing for scale from the start.
- Senior staff stepping into ownership and operational responsibility.
Four practical things, done well.
Working sessions
Small, facilitated working sessions on the operating questions firm principals are actually wrestling with — pricing, capacity, model design, tooling decisions.
Private briefings
Members-only briefings on the desk's deeper reviews and editorial work, including the unpublished detail behind published pieces.
Operator network
A short, trusted list of peers running serious firms — reachable directly, on the basis that everyone in the room has been vouched for.
A direct line to the desk
Members can put questions, story tips, and operating dilemmas directly to the desk — and expect a real reply, not a triage form.
Three steps. No theatre.
- 01
Apply
A short application — who you are, what you're building, and what you're hoping to get out of the room.
- 02
Conversation
If the application looks like a fit, the desk follows up for a 20-minute conversation. No pitch deck, no test.
- 03
Decision
Members are added in small cohorts so the room stays workable. If it isn't a fit right now, we'll say so directly.
Cadence over volume.
The community runs on a deliberate cadence — a small number of high-quality moments each quarter, rather than a constant feed. Members come for the room, not the noise.
Everything inside the community runs under Chatham House norms. What's said in the room stays in the room; what members share with each other is treated with the care a firm principal would expect.
Members are expected to show up, speak plainly, and contribute their own experience. It is not a passive subscription.
What operators ask before they apply.
If the room sounds right, tell us about your firm.
The application takes a few minutes. The desk reads every one.
One considered email. Read by the people building the next generation of firms.
